Carmen M. Mendoza, the owner of the computer shop and also my friend... Her 15 available computers were operating 98 hours a week, average of 14 hours a day... She also has a fascimile, photocopying machine and a laminator... And because of that the shop offers more than one service, 10 services to be exact...
Defective motherboard and video card were the common problems they encounter on the shop, in terms of hardware... The said problems were due to frequent use of the said parts... They also frequently replace the mouse and keyboard because of the same reason... Viruses, Spyware and corruption of the Operating System were the problems they encounter in terms of software... Those were due to electric fluctuations and blackouts... They solve the said problems by assisting the customers regularly to be sure that they use the machine properly... Income was affected when one or more of the computers are not working because they cannot maximize the supposedly full operation of the shop...
They replace some of the parts or peripherals of the computer once a year or more than 1 year depending on the usage... Virus infestation was solved by updating antivirus software and scanning the computers everyday... They use McAfee antivirus software because it is convenient to use and their familiar with it...
They conduct preventive maintenance everyday because it is important to the machine, it will prevent them from formatting the hard disk, thus their documents were intact and safe...
